Mission

Betty Wheeler Classical Junior Academy The staff at Betty Wheeler CJA have made a strong commitment to character education. We believe that one of the fundamental goals of education is to produce students who possess positive character attributes and who strive for successful achievements in and out of the classroom. The staff has worked diligently to implement a new character education program at BWCJA; The Rock and Soul Program. Students will be working in collaborative groups across multiple grade levels in our SOUL teams and Rock teams. BWCJA’s Core values are respect, responsibility, honesty and kindness. Our students know these concepts, and now it’s time to put them into action with SOUL: Selflessness, ownership, and unity for a larger purpose. SOUL is a team building philosophy created by Super Bowl–winning coach, Tony Dungy. The SOUL teams (character education groups) meet once a month and participate in activities based on BWCJA’s core values. The Rock teams meet four times to design and paint rocks with positive images and messages. The finished rocks will then be placed into the community. BWCJA Tigers ROCK their SOUL for the community!
